Why Kanye West Is Better Than 50 Cent

I always knew 50 Cent sucked. Aside from 'P I M P', I have never liked a single one of his songs. I think Dre and Em could have found a much better successor to their rap empire than this mediocre (at best) sloppy excuse for a performer. I never fully realized just how incredibly lame 50 was though, until reading this MSN News post, '50 Cent Disagrees With Kanye West' this evening. It's not necessarily this particular topic that I found so ridiculous, either way President Bush sucks, but it's the comments near the end of the article that detail the last time these two had words to say about one another where 50 says, "After 50 Cent, (hip-hop fans) was looking for something non-confrontational, and they went after first thing that came along. That was Kanye West, and his record took off." Are you serious? I'm not even a huge fan of Kanye really, and I know that he has more talent in his pinky toe than 50 could ever dream. His record took off because he is talented, not because of anything 50 did. In addition, here is another testament to 50's intelligence. There was some controversy going on about the billboards for his new movie (insert loud raucous laughter here) "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" and how they were posted near schools and daycares. Many of them were removed, and do you know what 50's response was? It was this brilliance: "It's okay if they take the ones down by their schools. The kids will go home and see the ones overlooking their house." Wow. And he wonders why he's been shot so many times.

Off Limits

Okay, I know, two posts one day, but after working on my portfolio for a while and listening to music on random, there are several songs I am making off limits for myself so I stop bawling my eyes out and actually get some work done:

14. Just Friends - Gavin DeGraw (Though we all know I will continue to listen to this despite that fact it makes me bawl)

It's a strange mix I know, and I am sure there are more, I just have not found them in my random WinAmp list yet. *Sigh*. Crying is not my most favorite thing. Funny, considering all the practice I've had - usually the things you do the most are favorite activities.
